Lifestyles of the Not-So-Rich-and-Famous
by Lauren Taylor
Everyone's life is an interesting story. Personally, I've always taken pride in being one-of-a-kind. I've noticed that listening to country music, being a grammar nerd and having the 1934 movie classic "The Thin Man" sandwiched onto your DVD shelf between "Anne of Green Gables" and the third season of "The West Wing" doesn't exactly make you the most popular person. But it makes me who I am, and aren't we all supposed to find ourselves in college?
Growing up, I used to collect stuffed animals and anything with a picture of a mouse (of course a mouse was my favorite animal). I don't have a collection going right now, but a lot of people do. Check out our article on collectors. What do you collect? DVDs? Shoes? Glasses from local bars?
If that's the case, have you checked out the new bar in town, Chasers, owned by UGA student Chase Dalton and his family? Managing a bar is hard work, especially while juggling classes and a social life, but Chase makes it look fun. If you think your job is hard, try cleaning the bathrooms after happy hour. It might not be glamorous, but I sell jewelry part-time with some of the nicest people in the world, and I wouldn't trade my job for anything. I've heard too many horror stories!
So who's the most interesting person you know? Maybe it's yourself - there's no crime in that! Send us an e-mail at ugazine@yahoo.com and tell us who you'd like to see in the pages of our magazine. Who knows...we might make someone famous!
And just for the record, I don't advocate stealing anything, not even a little shot glass from a bar. So don't blame me if you get caught. I warned you!
