Visitors should use pay-for-parking facilities or designated
visitor parking area as listed in the visitor’s section
of the Parking
Services Web site. If parking outside of these areas, visitors
must obtain and display a parking permit issued by parking services
unless other arrangements have been made by a hosting department.
Visitors Center parking
For access to the Visitors Center, visitors may park in the
adjacent parking lot and obtain a parking pass inside the
center. Additional visitor parking is available in pay-per-hour
lots and parking decks around campus. The Visitors Center
staff will be happy to show you the parking area closest to
your destination.
Admission information session parking
If you are attending an admissions information session, the
North Campus Parking Deck [map]

offers convenient parking for prospective students and their
families. Enter the parking deck’s main entrance on
Jackson Street. Deck fees are charged per hour. Current rates are $4 for the first hour, $1 for each
additional hour, and a maximum of $10 for each 24-hour
period parked. Information sessions are conducted in Terrell Hall
directly across from the deck.
Buses
There is no charge for visitors to
ride the campus transit
system, one of the largest and safest campus bus systems
in the nation. Buses operate only on days when classes are
in session. Hours of operation are from 6 a.m. until 1 a.m.
Peak level of service are between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Campus transit operates vans from 7 a.m. until 2 a.m. that
are equipped to provide curb-to-curb transportation service
for guests with disabilities. Services are provided by subscription
and on-demand for unscheduled trips. Schedules for campus
and Athens city routes are available at the Tate Student Center
information desk and the Visitors Center.
Special event and football parking
The safe and orderly accommodation of approximately
90,000 football fans requires a special allocation of parking
resources in the vicinity of Sanford Stadium. Some regular
weekday parking eligibility policies may be exempted during
these special events. Access to several streets and lots will
be restricted to vehicles bearing special parking passes.
General guidelines
- There shall be no parking on sidewalks; ample parking is
available.
- Parking services and/or the public safety division may
block off streets and parking areas as necessary for special
events or for construction purposes.

Guest parking at the Georgia Center
During your visit, parking will be available in the
South Campus Parking Deck, located just north of the Georgia
Center for Continuing Education.Current rates are $4 for the first hour, $1 for each additional hour, and a maximum of $10 for each 24-hour

Georgia School of Law. Visitors should enter the parking deck’s
main entrance on Jackson Street.
Parking at UGA libraries
Hourly parking is available near the Main Library at the North
Campus Parking Deck [map]
[rates].
Walk out of the parking deck's Jackson Street exit and turn
left on Jackson Street. Walk about a block and the Main Library
is on the right.
Hourly parking is available near the Science Library at the
South Campus Parking Deck [map]
[rates].
Walk out of the parking deck’s Sanford Drive exit and
turn left on Sanford Drive. Walk about a block and turn right
at the first driveway on the right (Dawson Hall driveway).
Continue on the sidewalk past Dawson Hall. The Science Library
is on the right.
