Garden to have native plant sale

The State Botanical Garden of Georgia will have its Bluestems and Bluejeans: Native Plant Sale starting Oct. 1. At this special native plant sale, the plants—nearly 200 species—are raised at the Mimsie Lanier Center for Native Plant Studies. The sale will be held Oct. 1-3 and Oct. 8-10 from 4-6 p.m., and Oct. 4 and 11 from 9 a.m. to noon. There will be experts on site to help buyers choose plants and answer their questions.

Professor to discuss status of climate change
J. Marshall Shepherd, the Georgia Athletic Association Professor in the department of geography and past president of the American Meteorological Society, will discuss "Climate Change 101: What We Know and Don't Know in 2014" Oct. 1 at 1:25 p.m. in the ecology building auditorium. The talk is part of the Ecology/ICON Conservation Seminar series.
