Jeanne Phoenix Laurel earned her Ph.D. in English, African-American Studies, and Women’s Studies from Indiana University-Bloomington in 1990. She spent one year as a Visiting Lecturer and Research Associate at Northeastern University. Presently, as Assistant Professor of English at Niagara University, she teaches everything from composition to multicultural literatures to film.
