Athens live

WUGA-FM's live performance series debuted in March 2001 and has been going strong ever since. Each performance features a local musical act and is broadcast live from Masters Hall in the Georgia Center for Continuing Education. Members of the community are invited to attend the performance for a "taste of live radio." David Starkweather, a professor in the UGA School of Music, and his students kicked off the series with a performance of Olivier Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time.

In the years since, guest performers have included singer/songwriter Heidi Hensley, rock and gospel band Julie Powell and the Holy Rollin' Empire, and guitarist/cellist team Adams Duo, among many others.
