Athens area residents voice their varied
opinions on this weekly series of commentaries. The program
provides the University of Georgia and the Athens area community
an opportunity to address a wide range of local issues, ideas,
and experiences. These thought-provoking four-minute essays
run the gamut from serious to humorous. Commentators have delved
into personal struggles with cancer, mental illness, and other
diseases and have reflected on life-altering events such as
weddings, funerals, and moments of great insight.
Writers have voiced concerns about community issues that directly
impact their lives such as environmental problems, personal
safety, and local regulations. Others recount favorite memories
of people, places, or things or discuss their passions for activities
such as jogging, gardening, or fishing.
