The Zeta Psi Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was chartered on November 11, 1969 on the campus of the University of Georgia in Athens, GA. Eight undergraduate women at the University, who we affectionately call the “Great Eight,” paved the way for over 400 capable and distinguished African-American women to serve the Athens community. Every year, Zeta Psi serves the Athens area through sponsoring families at Thanksgiving and Christmas, volunteering at Halloween Carnivals at the East Athens Community Center, and fundraising for HIV/AIDS, hypertension and diabetes research. Through the Clarke county Adopt-a-Street program, Zeta Psi is proud to have adopted Barber Street, which is located near downtown Athens. Aside from these annual projects, the Zeta Psi chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc continuously supports programs and charities as they become available in and around the UGA community. |

Every semester, Zeta Psi
hosts the Delta Scholar’s Banquet which acknowledges minority students at the University of
Georgia who hold a 3.0 or higher grade point average. We also sponsor School America,
a national program that focuses on eradicating illiteracy among America’s
youth. Additionally, Zeta Psi is
proud to host the annual Miss Black University of Georgia Pageant, which
serves as the chapter’s largest philanthropy. The Miss D.I.V.A. Pageant will return in Fall 2004.
