From Mid- or Northern Atlanta:

  • Take I-85 north to GA 316 east (the Lawrenceville/Athens exit).
  • Exit and continue on GA 316 to Athens. Watch for the stoplight at the "Oconee Connector" crossing, and once beyond, move immediately into the right lane.
  • Take the next right turn onto the GA Loop 10 (there will be signs to UGA/South Athens).
  • Continue on GA Loop 10 to the College Station Road exit (approximately 5 miles).
  • Exit at College Station Road and turn right at the bottom of the ramp.
  • Turn right again at the first stoplight onto Riverbend Road.
  • Proceed about 1/10 mile on Riverbend Road and take second right-hand turn (the drive is marked with a sign including the Center for Applied Isotope Studies).
  • Go to the end of this drive and look for the one-story CAIS building on the left.
  • Free visitor's parking is designated in green in front of the building.

From South Atlanta or Atlanta Airport:

  • Exit Atlanta Airport onto I-85 South.
  • Take I-285 east to I-20.
  • Take I-20 east to GA 138 in Conyers (2 nd Conyers exit).
  • Follow GA 138 northeast which will become US 78 in Monroe.
  • Continue on US 78 east to GA 316 east.
  • Turn right onto GA 316 east.
  • Watch for the stoplight at the "Oconee Connector" crossing, and once beyond, move immediately into the right lane.
