Minutes of the DLS: 06/08/1829

Demosthenian Hall Monday evening 8 June 1829 The Society convened this evening according to notice. The house being called to order, Col. Dniel H. Brailsford of McIntosh was proposed as an honorary member of this Society by Mr. Wimberly and there being no objection he was admitted. According to a communication made on the last Saturday by Mr. McKinly notifying the Society of Mr. Hills resignation of the office of Junior Orator the Society proceeded to the election of another to fill that vacancy and on the second balloting Mr. Beall having a majority of all the votes given in was declared duly elected.
