The new members were then sworn in by Chief Justice Doss.

David Firor was recognized by the chair. He began by saying that he wished to present a resolution for the consideration of the society. At this point he was stopped by H. B Edwards, Jr., who said that he was opposed to any more political resolutions being presented. Mr. Orr arose and asked Mr. Edwards how he knew the nature of the resolution. Mr. Edwards wilted. He tried to prevent the motion from being passed saying that the society passed a resolution during the Winter Quarter which definitely stated that no more motions condemning the governor could be passed. The minutes of the meeting to which Mr. Edwards referred as the one in which the resolution was passed were produced and no evidence of such a motion could be produced. After seeing defeat in his attempt to get the resolution of Mr. Firor ruled unacceptable by the society, Mr. Edwards began an attack on the Student Political League, Anti-Talmadge organization made up of all the students on the University Campus and leaders of every organization on the campus. He charged that the Student Political League was supporting Ellis Arnall for governor and that they are supporting him by getting money under false pretense.
Mr. Edwards then said that the students on the campus are being used for stooges of the Student Political League, and that Demosthenian Literary Society would soon be taken ever by the League.

Wimbric Walker asked what the Student Political League was - said he had not heart of it. Mr. Doss explained to him the purposes of the League as an anti-Talmadge organization. He said that the League was endorsed by practically every student on the campus. Mr. Walker then asked if the Student Political League was in favor of Ellis Arnall. Mr. Firor answered the question by saying that the Student Political League was not organized to help Arnall, but to defeat Talmadge. He also stated that every student on the campus is invited to become a member of the League.
Marion Broadhurst was recognized by the chair. He said that he would like to tell the society that he had information from a reliable source that Mr. Columbus Roberts would enter the governor's race.
The meeting then adjourned upon motion from the floor.

Respectfully Submitted,

Robert Joiner, Secretary
