Minutes of the Demosthenian Literary Society 1829-1839

PREFACE

The 405 typed pages here are taken from the manuscript book of minutes of the Demosthenian Literary Society preserved in the rare book collection of the University of Georgia. The manuscript volume is in a badly worn condition. The first page is numbered 170, and it is apparent that the first part of the book has been torn out.

The typing was done by Mrs. Miriam Parr, Secretary of the Political Science Department of the University of Georgia. A conscientious attempt has been made to preserve the minutes as they occur in the original. Where words in the manuscript were illegible, a blank space has been left in the typing.
