Kappa Deuteron strives for excellence in academics.
"If a fraternity is going to justify its existence today, it must provide a wholesome and flexible atmosphere for the pursuit of an academic education by its members."
--Dr. James L. Anderson

Phi Gamma Delta stresses athletics, social events, and campus activities; however, it remembers always that the pursuit of knowledge and solid academics is the most important part of the college experience for its members. Kappa Deuteron takes this commitment to education very seriously and has had a great deal of success in the realm of academics throughout its existence.

Kappa Deuteron's grade point average has exceeded the University's all-male grade point average every year of its existence.

Kappa Deuteron has finished in the top three of all fraternities academically for each of the last ten years.

  • Kappa Deuteron finished 3rd for the 2005 Spring Grade Reports. 2005 Spring Grade Report
  • Phi Gamma Delta rewards stellar academic behavior through various scholarships:

    • Each pledge in the fraternity who earns a 3.0 grade point average or above during his pledge period, receives a $250 scholarship. In Fall 2004, 19 of our 20 new brothers received one of these Academic Achievement Awards.
    • The fraternity's members also receive, yearly, various local and national Phi Gamma Delta scholarship grants along with grants sponsored by the Interfraternity Council.
