Important PAD Pledge Information
Important Info/New Member Updates
2/28/2008 will be the first official pledge meeting(Sanford hall 213 Auditorium)
and there will no new members accepted after this date. Meetings are
mandatory; if you have an unexpected emergency and cannot attend let me
know as soon as possible. I hope that since we only meet once a week this will
not happen more then a few times. Also most people have already been
interviewed if you have not been and have not spoken to me you need to
contact me ASAP.
Last meeting we spoke about officer positions, anyone can run. However, these
positions tend to be a lot of work and become time consuming towards
initiation (April 10th). If you still want to do it, Please prepare a short 2-3
minute speech on why you are most qualified for the position. Here is a
description of each position.
President: Presides over meetings as the administrator of pledge class affairs.
Has the power to appoint committees (social, fund-raising etc.) and see that
they operate. The president has the responsibility to his/her best to ensure the
entire class has met the requirements by initiation by working closely with
myself and other PAD officers.
Vice President: Has the power to perform the duties of the president in their
absence. Is the official head of each committee created. Reads of the status of
the Pledge class in every meeting announcing important dates, events and
activities.
There are community service events that we mentioned last meeting coming up
this week. You should get an e-mail about specific dates and locations for this
week and most future events soon.
Begin to fill out your applications online. You will pay $70 to PAD Nationals and
$25 to our treasurer for our local chapter. I’d like everyone to be paid up by
March 6th
Go to www.pad.org click join then join online then select Pre-law. For your
initiation date please fill in 4/10/2008
See you Thursday!
