Below is a list of some of our recent grant activity
US Dept of Education International Research Initiative in 2006 for "GLOSSARI: Georgia Learning Outcomes of Students Studying Abroad Research Initiative." Total funding is $547,000. Principal Investigator D. Rubin.
National Institute of Health, “Lay and Expert Models of Gene-Environment Interaction," NIH 1 R01 HG003961-01, 2006-2009 $227,194 annually. Principal Investigator (PI) is Dr. C. Condit while L. Shen & Tina M. Harris are Co-Investigators.
The CDC awarded UGA a Center of Excellence in Health Communication & Marketing in 2004. This is a 3.5 million dollar center titled “The Southern Center for Communication, Health, and Poverty.” Dr. Freimuth is the Center’s director and is the Principal Investigator (PI) on the Multiple Risks Project. Dr. Condit is the PI on the Genetics Project and Dr. Monahan is the PI for the Adolescent Processing of Smoking Messages study.
American Legacy Foundation, $24,000 for "Tobacco-Related Health Literacy Among Incarcerated Individuals, Dr. Rubin & Dr. Panetta, Co-Investigators.
National Cancer Institute, $24,000 for “Data Analysis and Dissemination of Tobacco-Related Health Literacy Among Incarcerated Individuals.” Dr. Rubin and Dr. Panetta, Co-Investigators.
The Georgia Department of Human Resources. The award was for a Survey of Georgia Citizens’ Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices about Emergency Preparedness and to develop a risk communication training tool Dr. Barge, & Dr. Freimuth are Co-PIs. 2006-08, $199,487.
The Georgia Department of Human Resources. A $163,699 contract to develop a statewide survey on perceptions of risk communication and emergency preparedness, 2005-06. Dr. Freimuth & Dr. Barge are Co-PIs.
