Berkeley Boone

- Animal Curator / Education Program Specialist -

Berkeley grew up in Tucker, Georgia fascinated by the outdoor world, particularly by reptiles and amphibians. With many thanks to his incredibly tolerant parents, he has been collecting and keeping various fish, reptiles and amphibians since he was very young, and has always wanted to share his enthusiasm for these animals. Berkeley attended the University of Georgia, and received his BS-Ed in Recreation and Leisure Studies. He has been an environmental educator for a nature center in north Georgia, and now maintains the Outreach collection of live birds, mammals, fish, reptiles and amphibians for the Savannah River Ecology Lab. Along with the collection at work, he maintains a large (and possibly obsessive) personal collection of reptiles and amphibians, ranging from common and local, to various species from around the world.
