It has been an interesting journey from those long days as a farm kid in mid-Michigan. After a few juvenile mishaps and some near misses with serious maiming, I decided to attend Michigan State University where I majored in engineering for two years until I realized the unlimited benefits of a zoological life.  Surveyed manholes, rode some horses, fixed some fence, became an Adventure Ranger, educated some kids, took care of some mega fauna, and passed all of my classes on my way to a BS from MSU in 2001. The next step was Georgia, and a graduate position with Whit Gibbons, where I have taken on the daunting task of trying to work with amphibians and microbes in an attempt to save the world one anuran at a time
