SHS History (1990-96):
1990
Founded, initially only as an informal international students club to party and eat (yes, going to the dining hall on particular dates and meeting up was a must). No planned activities. Founding members: Christian Khoury(president),Theodor Winger (vice president), Melisa Sult (secretary/treasurer), Peter Schreiner, Anna Sult, Sylvia Bures, and many others.

1991
SHS becomes "official" i.e., is sponsored by UGA and has certain rights as a registered club with 60 members, and a waiting list of 28 people to join. The number was restricted to 60 so it would be exclusive, and of course, prestigious.

1992
Change in offices: Peter Schreiner (Vice-President), others the same. "Planned" events such as canoeing, movie nights, hiking, trips to Florida and others, begin. Active participation at the international coffe hour in conjunction with the German Club; introduction of the BB-Times, the official publication of the SHS, given out bimonthly.

1993
Oystein Bonvik becomes president. More parties, activites and such. Gregory Flinn becomes the BB-Times editor and main event organizer: Longer trips to the beach, Cumberland island, etc.

1994
Peter Schreiner becomes president, Greg Flinn (un)official vice-president, Julia Brill (treasurer/secretary), Philip Perkins(party officer). Publicly announced official parties begin, with official DJ Frank.

1995-96
Deanna Miller becomes president, Julia Brill (un)official vice president/treasurer. SHS goes on the web with, Besim Atalay as maintainer. Regular activities, parties, trips, bbq etc.

Special thanks to Peter Schreiner and Christian Khoury for the history information
