The Alumni Board of Nu Chapter, Tau Epsilon Phi has
reached an agreement with the University of Georgia to
relocate the TEP House to land located between East
Campus Road and River Road on the UGA Campus.
All land, development and construction costs will be paid for by the University. The Fraternity will sign a 30 year lease with a 30 year option. The new facility will sleep 20 Brothers, have a full service kitchen and a large recreation room. Tentative architectural plans also include study rooms, chapter meeting rooms and other common area rooms. The House will have state of the art internet, cable services, fire suppression and security systems. We hope to recreate the formal living room that made the TEP house unique to all fraternity houses on campus during the 1960s and 1970s. The Chapter will be able to make suggestions regarding certain aspect of the construction of the new house.
Scheduled completion dates range from August 2010 to August 2012. TEP will remain at our current location until the new house is ready to be occupied. As soon as complete architectural renderings are available we will present these to the Chapter and Alumni.
The Alumni Board will begin a fund raising campaign to furnish the new house in the very near future. If you are interested in helping with the campaign, please call Brother Rick Bernstein at 770.380.0341.
Based on current architectural rendering provided to the Alumni Board by the University, we believe that Alumni, current Brothers and future Brothers will be more than happy with the new house and the amenity package that will come with it.
We are excited that the University has finally made a long term commitment to TEP and Greek Housing in general. It has been a long and arduous task but our new House will be a great asset in Rush and a great
reason for Alumni to return and visit.
Although we will miss our house at 150 Baxter Street, we, the Alumni Board, believe that remaining on the UGA Campus is in the best interest of Nu Chapter. There are many details yet to be worked out but we will keep the Brotherhood informed and involved as we work with UGA to give Nu Chapter a new home.
