Purchasing Sun Products

Many Sun hardware and software products are available at an educational discount directly from the Educational Sales unit of Sun Microsystems. There is a Web page at http://www.edugremlin.net/ where you can get educational (and list) pricing, time-limited promotional deals, and some facts about the product line. A thorough description of Sun's product line can be found at Sun's web site, though prices are not there.

Important: when you buy a Sun computer, you also buy a license to run Solaris on it. Historically, the computer does not come with Solaris installed, nor with a CD to install it from, though it seems that now many systems do have the OS pre-installed. See here for details.
