First Home Sponsorship of Housing 4 Housing’s first home took place over a five year period, with residents and staff raising in excess of $60,000 through activities such as gift wrapping at a local bookstore, penny drives, a “Couch-A-Thon” and sales of commemorative bricks. Housing 4 Housing teammates also worked on the actual construction of the home for Athens resident Chynitra Brown and her daughter.

Current Home University Housing and its residents are already over halfway to fulfilling sponsorship of the second home. Great fundraising events by the Hall Councils, Community Councils, C.L.A.S.S. Advocates and Resident Assistants will be scheduled throughout the academic school year.
Get Involved! In pursuit of the philanthropic mission, Housing 4 Housing meets on a monthly basis in the Residence Hall Education & Services Conference Room, located on the first floor of Russell Hall. Meetings are scheduled from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. on January 30, February 20 and March 27, 2009. Housebuilding events are scheduled for February 7, March 21 and April 18, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend!
