You will be responsible for maintaining good relationships among the residents in your hall, Housing administrators, and personnel outside the Department of University Housing. You will also be instrumental in planning and implementing programming in your community. The Department of University Housing seeks candidates with previous residence hall staff experience and/or student government leadership, counseling experience, group work or human relations training. Tuition waiver (student fees and parking are not included)* Furnished, air-conditioned on-campus apartment within an assigned residence hall (all utilities, local telephone, cable and internet service are provided) On-campus meal plan through University Food Services Health Insurance option (student pays for insurance plan) *Students enrolled in professional schools (pharmacy, law, or veterinary medicine) may not be eligible for the tuition waiver. Preference will be given to candidates who are available for an academic year (July through May) work assignment. A limited number of summer positions are available with assignment priority given to experienced returning staff.
How to apply STEP #1 - Complete a graduate assistantship application through the Division of Student Affairs. This can be done by clicking here. STEP #2 - Complete a Department of University Housing graduate assistantship application. This can be done by clicking here. Please note: The above two steps must be completed in order to be considered for a position with the Department of University Housing. Selected candidates are asked to visit campus for a day and a half interview,
which will take place in February 2009. Due to the high number of applicants,
we unfortunately are not able to offer all applicants an interview. If
you have any questions about your application, please contact Heather
Rush at (706) 542-8191 or hrush@uga.edu. Late applications are accepted and will be reviewed as vacancies occur once our selection process is complete.
