 Certificate Program Information

Sunset Supercell © Walker Ashley The UGA Atmospheric Sciences Program offers certificate programs at the graduate and undergraduate levels. The undergraduate certificate is offered in conjunction with a bachelors degree from a participating program. The operational meteorology track of the undergraduate certificate meets the federal civil service requirements for employment as a meteorologist and the American Meteorological Society's recommended curriculum. The general atmospheric sciences track of the undergraduate certificate can be tailored to suit the students interests and career goals.  UGA Student Chapter of the American Meteorological Society

 The students in the Atmospheric Sciences Program have organized a student chapter of the American Meteorological Society, open to all university students. Please visit the new UGA AMS web site for details on upcoming meetings and events, along with information on how you can become a member of the chapter. 

  

 Southern High Resolution Modeling Consortium

 Information and details on the Southern High Resolution Modeling Consortium are now available online. The mission of the consortium is to develop research and operational applications of modern atmospheric technologies, specifically mesoscale numerical weather prediction, in the southern region.

   

 Georgia Skies

 "Georgia Skies" ... a site dedicated to weather data for the state of Georgia and the nation as a whole is now online. The purpose of this site is to supplement data available to students through the UGA NOAAPORT System and the GEMPAK/McIDAS software packages. The site is an easy-to-use source of internet-ready weather information.
