Building service employees honored at awards banquet
Fifty members of the buildings services staff were honored Sept. 20 at an awards banquet sponsored by the Night Owl Social Committee, a new representative committee of the seven crews of the North Campus night janitors. Honorees included: (25-29 years of service) Curtis Fleming, Louise Huff, Terry Jarvis, Willie Johnson, George Sheats, Emanuel Stewart and Joe Wyms; (20-24 years of service) Lukie Clarke, Dorothy Cooper, Guy Gilham, Curtis Jennings, Willie Jennings and Wylie Powers; (10-14 years of service) Pearlene Appling, Ernest Dalton, Ernest Eberhardt, Pearlie Edwards, Evelyn Gunnels, Shirley Hitchcock, Lucille Johnson, Sarah Johnson, Walter Johnson, Homer Lee, Ruby Mitchell, Willie Perkins, Dorothy Sheats and James Willingham; (5-9 years of service) Ella Bolton, Jeanette Bradford, Eugene Echols, Sarah Gresham, Ann Pearson, Larry Sims and Louise White; and (less than five years of service) Ottis Allen, Betty Christopher, Harry Dalton, Henry Fanning, Mattie Few, Gwendolyn Grimes, Watson Jones, Willie Lester, Tommie McCommons, Earl Parks, Minnie Raines, Bryant Smith, Louise Smith and Arthur Thomas.
