Doing Double Duty

UGA Food Services - The Healthy Choice
UGA Food Services helps students establish healthy eating habits through nutrition education. The following services are available to meal plan patrons free of charge.

Nutrition Counseling
Obtain reliable nutrition information, discuss personal health issues, receive individualized advice, or acquire body assessments to determine disease risk through private consultations with the Food Services Registered Dietitian.

Students with food allergies or nutritionally significant medical conditions (diabetes, Celiac disease, Crohn’s disease, anemia, hypertension, hypoglycemia, etc) can receive nutrition advisement through private consultations with the Registered Dietitian.

Eating Smart Course
Taught by the Registered Dietitian, this free eight week course helps participates develop a healthy lifestyle through eating right and exercising. Class topics include tips on weight issues, vegetarianism, exercise, emotional eating, body image, eating healthy on a small budget, and recipe renovation.

Weekly Table Tents and Monthly Displays
Designed to keep students up to date with the latest nutrition and health information, table tents feature a new topic each week while nutrition displays, located in the lobby of each dining commons, highlights a new topic each month.

Bone-i-fied Good Items
We take the guess work out of eating healthy by marking each low fat menu item (30% or less calories from fat) with a heart symbol.
