The Visitors Center
The University of Georgia Visitors Center began operation in 1996 with a charge to provide a warm welcome to visitors, to collect and provide accurate information about the institution and to aid visitors in accomplishing the purpose of their visit to campus.

Located in a former dairy barn on East Campus, the Visitor Center occupies the southern wing of the Four Towers Building (the four towers representing the building's four silos). The center assists visitors and maintains up-to-date information about campus, local accommodations, special events and campus maps.

Best Times to Visit
Although you're welcome on campus any time, our scheduling tips will help you get the most from your campus visit. Tours are not conducted on official university holidays.

Want to avoid the crowds?

  • Visit in January, February, May, June, September, November or December.
  • Visit on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.
  • Avoid visiting during holiday weeks, such as July 5-9.
  • Avoid visiting on your local school holidays; the UGA Visitors Center is likely to be much busier on those days.

Want to see and do as much as possible?

  • Visit on a weekday when Fall, Spring, or Summer classes are in session.
  • Some visit activities are unavailable during semester breaks, final exam weeks or Spring Break, and most university offices are closed on weekends. Tours are not offered December 24 through January 2.
  • The best time to see UGA is when classes are in session, residence halls are open, and all of our faculty, staff and students are available to answer your questions. (We will be glad to document your visit for your high school’s attendance office.)

Campus events

Numerous events, performances, and activities are held throughout the year at the university. For more information about campus events, please see the master calendar.
